USUAL ACTIVITIES
Correct way of lifting and putting objects down.
Hold the object close to your body as much as possible so that the spine is straight. You should get up ‘’from your legs’’.
If you dropped your keys, you can bend down from your hips holding the spine straight. Having in mind that people usually cannot make that movement correctly, it is much safer to squat on one leg. Lean on your knee with one hand and support the body, keeping the spine straight until you get the keys. Upon getting up, push away from the vertical line and keep getting up ‘’from the legs’’.
When washing your face, you should bend down from your hips with the back remaining straight or from semi-squat bending with your back being straight. Usual bending /croissant-like/ may leave you in that position.
